The decimal on a division order is commonly the owner’s share of revenue from a particular well or unit. It can reflect the tract, the interest, the lease royalty, and the unit or well information.
It is not a title opinion
A division order is one payment record. It does not replace deeds, probate records, assignments, leases, releases, or a title opinion, and it may not show every interest in the tract.
Compare the identifying details
Read the owner name, well name, operator, county, property description, and effective date. If a detail looks wrong, keep the notice and ask the operator or payor what record supports the entry.
Changes can follow title work
A transfer, probate filing, curative document, or corrected title opinion can change who is paid or the decimal used. Keep old division orders so the payment history can be compared with later notices.
